It’s day two of San Diego Comic-Con (SDCC)’s fiftieth-anniversary celebration! Today, several iconic media franchises are taking over the convention. Here are some of today’s must-see panels:
Writing Avengers: Endgame (Friday, July 19; 10 to 10:50 AM; Hall H)
Screenwriters and producers Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeely wrote two of Marvel Studios’ successful movies of all-time: Avengers: Infinity War and the box office blockbuster Avengers: Endgame. The Q&A with Jeff Goldsmith podcast host Jeff Goldsmith will moderate a conversation with the duo as they share their screenwriting process for the blockbuster conclusion for the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s first 22 films.
A Conversation with the Russo Brothers (Friday, July 19; 11 to 11:50 AM; Hall H)
Thanks to the box office success of both Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers: Endgame, directors Joe and Anthony Russo have cemented their place as a force in the film industry. Collider editor-in-chief Steven Weintraub will sit down with the Russo Brothers for an exclusive SDCC conversation. The duo is expected to talk about life after Endgame and tease future projects with their company: AGBO Films.
World Premiere: Hulu’s Veronica Mars Revival (11:30 AM to 12:45 PM; Ballroom 20)
Veronica Mars is returning! Hulu will exclusively revive the mystery drama starring Kristen Bell. The Frozen voice actress is scheduled to appear at this SDCC panel costars Enrico Colantoni, Jason Dohring, and Percy Daggs III. Series creator Rob Thomas and executive producer Diane Ruggiero-Wright will also take fan questions.
The Walking Dead (1 PM to 2 PM; Hall H)
AMC’s post-apocalyptic zombie drama will celebrate its milestone tenth anniversary season this October! Chris Hardwick returns to moderate this fan-favorite panel as series creator Robert Kirkman will join actors Norman Reedus, Danai Gurina, Melissa McBride, and Jeffrey Dean Morgan to tease fans on things to come on this sci-fi/horror series.
DC Batman (3 to 4 PM: Room 6DE)
The Dark Knight is celebrating his 90th birthday! Throughout 2019, DC celebrated Batman’s birthday with milestone events such as publishing Detective Comics’ 1,000th issue. Join some of the Caped Crusaders’ iconic creators to celebrate the superhero’s anniversary year.
Pennyworth Special Video Presentation (4:30 to 5:30 PM; Room 6BCF)
After years of being in Batman’s shadow, Alfred Pennyworth will step into the spotlight in the upcoming EPIX television series: Pennyworth. The drama will focus on Alfred’s early years and how a certain man named Thomas Wayne will forever change his life. Actors Jack Bannon, Ben Aldridge, and Paloma Faith are expected to join series executive producers Bruno Heller and Danny Cameron at this SDCC screening.
World Premiere of Batman: Hush (7:15 PM to 9:15 PM;
Batman fans should want to end day two at SDCC with a film starring the Caped Crusader! Warner Bros. Home Animation, DC Comics, and Warner Bros. Animation will premiere the animated adaption of the popular Batman: Hush storyline. After the film, voice actors Jason O’Mara (Batman), Jennifer Morrison (Catwoman), Maury Sterling (Hush), and Hynden Walch (Harley Quinn) will join the film’s screenwriter Ernie Altbacker, character designer Phil Bourassa, and executive producer James Tucker for a talkback.
