Last night, 12 acts competed for four coveted positions in the Season Eight Semi-Final.
Only a few stars shined last night as Forte and Ciana Pelekai were the only two acts that stole the show as frontrunners Angela Hoover and singer Marty Brown suffered major setbacks.
So who went through to the next round? Read on to find out!
After multiple packages that saw what went on behind the scenes before, during and after America’s Got Talent, it was time for a performance from Robin Thicke, who sang his hit song: “Blurred Lines.” All of the judges and the Radio City Music Hall audience members danced through his segment.
Once Robin Thicke left the stage it was time to get down to business. Host Nick Cannon asked Innovative Force, Struck Boyz and Aquanuts to step forward. All three of them had a strong showing last night. The first group sent through to the Semi-Finals was Innovative Force. Heidi congratulated the girls and said that she was not surprised that America put them through.
The next group to step forward was Brad Beyers, Kid the Wiz and Dave Shirley. All three of them did not have a solid showing last night and all three contestants were immediately eliminated. This left three spots left. However, the results were paused as Brad Paisley delivered a strong performance that received a standing ovation from Radio City Music Hall.
Up next were Marty Brown, Ciana Pelekai and Alexandr Magala. Nick told the audience that only one person would go through to the next round. Mel B could not call who passed America’s vote. Despite having a rough night, Marty Brown was voted through! Marty needs to deliver AND NOT LET HIS EMOTIONS GET TO HIM! Howard was shocked with the result and told him to buck up!
Once Marty and the others left the stage, it was time for Forte, Angela Hoover and Tone the Chiefrocca to find out their fates. Forte received the third spot (thank goodness!), which left the latter two’s fates to be decided by the judges. Heidi and Howie loved Tone’s one-hit wonder and back him. Meanwhile, Angela received support from Mel B and Howard, who wanted her to deliver better material and pull her act together. Once again the judges were deadlocked, it was up to America to decide…. They voted and sent through…ANGELA HOOVER!
Next week, several acts including the Chicago Boyz, Deanna DellaCioppa, Kenichi Ebina and Jonathan Allen will get their chance to grab a spot in the Semi-Finals
