Last night, music legends Clive Davis and Diana Ross along with longtime coach Christina Aguilera advised the Top 10 and it was clear that there were three frontrunners that could possibly be in the Final Three.
If they continue to deliver…fans can expect Team Blake’s Craig Wayne Boyd, Team Adam’s Damien and Team Pharrell’s DaNica Shirey to be at the finale with Anita Antoinette or Sugar Joans filling the last spot.
Who was safe from elimination? Who fought for the Instant Save? Read on to find out…
Before we got to the results, Adam took the stage to perform Billy Joel’s “Only The Good Die Young” with his team (Matt McAndrew, Damien and Chris Jamison). For the first time this season, I was very impressed with Matt’s solos and Damien nailed those high notes. The guys had great harmonies and made the American piano man very proud.
As Adam returned to his chair, Carson revealed that America saved Team Blake’s Craig Wayne Boyd and Team Adam’s Matt McAndrew!
Once, Carson was done checking in with all four coaches…he delivered more results! The next two artists that were safe from the Insta Save performances were Team Pharrell’s Luke Wade and Team Gwen’s Taylor John Williams.
Team Pharrell (dressed in black tie attire) performed Louis Armstrong’s enchanting “What A Wonderful World.” Outside of Team Christina’s Jackson Medley in Season Five, this is on par for being one of the fantastic team performances in the show’s seven seasons! Both DaNica and Pharrell gave me chills, unfortunately…Luke felt out-of-place.
As Pharrell and Luke departed the stage, DaNica Shirey and Team Adam’s Chris Jamison (wrong decision, America!) were safe for elimination…leaving Anita Antoinette, Ryan Sill, Reagan James and Damien in danger!
While the four were waiting on pins and needles to learn their fates, Knockouts advisor Taylor Swift performed “Blank Space” on the stage! This was 1,000,000-times better than her American Music Awards performance. I loved hearing her vocals and hearing the crowd roar with pure delight.
Carson surprised the Top 10 at Starbucks with the announcement of a Thanksgiving dinner with several special guests: their family members and closest friends! It was so nice to see the Top 10 with their families.
However, Damien might not see his family for a while, as he was the last artist to be saved by America! This left Anita, Ryan and Reagan with the daunting task of singing for the Insta Save.
Reagan James tackled “I’m Like A Bird” for her Save-Me Song. I liked her vibe, but there were some pitch or breath problems during the performance. (B-); Anita Antoinette showed no boundaries with her Save-Me performance of Jason Mraz’s “The Remedy (I Won’t Worry).” (A-). Ryan Sill rounded out the night with “Collide” and as usual, it was a mess! (F)
It seems like the country likes mediocrity as Ryan Sill was once again saved by America! (He is getting on my nerves and SHOULD BE ELIMINATED THIS WEEK!) With every week Ryan is on, he slowly destroys the show’s creditability!
Next week, The Top Eight take “The Voice” stage!
