Tonight was the final night of the Battle Rounds!
The Voice: Season Four delivered incredible battles over the past two weeks and tonight’s final battles took both the viewers and coaches to their limits.
Who will be going to the Knockout Rounds? Who did Usher steal? Read on to find out….
Shakira paired two of her intense vocalists, Brandon Roush and Shawna P, together for an electrifying cover of Janis Joplin’s “Piece of My Heart.” While Brandon struggled finding his place in the song, Shawna had a hard time finding the emotional aspect with her cover. However, both of them delivered an outstanding cover that pleased their coach. In the Battle of Newbie versus the Experience, Shakira chose to keep Shawna P and sent Brandon home.
Adam’s second to last battle involved Sarah Simmons and Duncan Kamakana. The Maroon 5 lead singer decided to have the duo perform guest mentor Lady Antebellum’s Hillary Scott’s hit: “Wanted You More.” While Duncan played his guitar and serenaded Sarah, Ms. Simmons channeled her inner Kelly Clarkson and delivered a vocal that would have made Hillary proud and won the battle.
The final key battle of the evening belonged to Team Shakira’s Cáthia and Mary Miranda. Shakira decided to have her Latin superstars sing her hit from Sale el Sol: “Antes de las Seis.” During the first rehearsals, the inexperienced Mary Miranda had a problem learning the song, which made Cáthia mad. However, Mary overcame the obstacle and helped Cáthia deliver a beautiful performance. This was Shakira’s most difficult decision so far this season. She decided to keep Mary Miranda, which left Cáthia to be stolen by Usher.
Next week, the Knockout Rounds begin! Favorites will fall and stars will emerge!
