Today’s the day that everyone in Storybrooke has been waiting for…the birth of Snow and Charming’s second child!
While Snow and Charming are enthusiastic about this important life-changing event, there is also another person in town that is “dying” to meet this special child. Her name: Zelena, the Wicked Witch of the West!
Since her debut, Regina’s vile half-sister has set her sights on the Charmings’ second child. She needs the child to complete a spell so that she could back in time, kill Snow White’s mother and not let her mother, Cora (the future Queen of Hearts) abandon her.
If Zelena is successful, almost every major character that we love or loathe (Snow, Regina, Emma and Henry) would not be born!
The show started in Oz where Glinda praised Zelena for teaching the Wizard of Oz a lesson (transforming him into a Flying Monkey). She also offered her to join her sister witches as part of the Witches Council of Oz, who were the protectors of Oz. When Zelena put her vendetta against Regina behind her, Glinda gave her a pendant that harness her magic and protected her. However, the Good Witch warned her that she would be powerless without it.
While the witches were looking at Zelena’s domain, a cyclone arrived in Oz and carried a young girl named Dorothy Gale. Glinda and the other witches welcomed her with open arms. This made Zelena jealous and when she had a spare moment, the Wicked Witch of the West confronted the Kansan and threatened to kill her with a fireball. Dorothy threw water on her and she “melted.” As Glinda walked away with Dorothy, Zelena headed to stop them.
Disguised as the Wizard, Zelena gave Dorothy the silver slippers to travel back home. Once she was gone, the Wicked Witch of the West banished Glinda to the Enchanted Forest.
In Storybrooke, the Charmings headed to the hospital as Snow’s water broke. Zelena sensed the baby’s arrival and with Gold, she traveled to get the final ingredient for her time-traveling spell. While Charming ordered Hook and Emma to find Zelena and Rumple, Henry reunited with Archie and talked about his plans to stay in Storybrooke after Zelena was defeated.
His mom on the other hand swore up and down to Hook that they were leaving. Zelena and Rumple spotted the couple and nearly drowned the good captain. Having no choice, Emma kissed the pirate and Zelena got what she wanted…a savior without magic! She gleefully made her entrance to the Storybrooke Hospital as she took down her sister, Belle and Robin Hood and his Merry Men to get to Snow’s room. After Snow delivered a beautiful baby boy, the parents only had mere moments until the Wicked Witch of the West made off with their child.
As Charming rallied the troops, the group looked to the former Evil Queen in hope to defeat her psycho half-sister. Regina had self-doubt, but it was both Henry and Robin that lite a fire under Regina’s butt. While Zelena finished up with the preparations necessary to go back in time, the Charmings attacked!
While they were no match for a possessed Rumple and a Flying Monkey (Little John), Regina was able to channel good magic to defeat her sister. As Zelena was escorted to the Storybrooke jail, the Charmings reunited as a family and Mr. Gold proposed to Belle. However, the imp went to the jail and “stabbed” Zelena with his Dark One dagger.
But, Zelena’s spirit and magic went back to the barn and completed the time-travel spell!
Next week, the show travels back in time for an explosive two-hour season finale!
