Tonight, the last set of 11 acts performed for America’s votes! They performed across Universal Studios Hollywood and around the country and world. Which acts impressed judges Heidi Klum, Howie Mandel, and Sofia Vergara? Did anyone get buzzed? Read on to find out!
Up first, the C.A. Wildcats performed from their hometown of Plano, Texas. This group hoped to destroy stereotypes and bring cheerleading to a higher level of excellence. Their stunts were fabulous, and their choreography kept me entertained. I was very impressed with them. B+
Young singer Kendai Dodds is trying to follow Maren Morris and Taylor Swift into the country music world. Kendai’s biggest inspiration is her sister has a vision-deteriorating disease. She sang an original tune dedicated to her sister. It is an average song, and we already have stronger vocalists in her age group such as Roberta and Daneliya, so that I would eliminate her from the competition. Also, I would love to have buzzed her just to see her reaction. C
Romania-based Lightwave Theatre Company performed in their home country. The group had a lot of obstacles that they had to face to perform. They performed a routine that focused on a story on the pandemic. I immediately got chills by the performance. Both the puppetry and graphics were impeccable. Howie was in the wrong to press his buzzer. A
Vocal trio Resound performed on the Universal Studios Hollywood soundstage. The trio had a hard time dealing with the coronavirus. However, the fanbase rallied around them. Resound delivered a powerful take on A Great Big World and Christina Aguilera’s “Fall on Me.” I loved their harmonies, and they made me smile so much! A+
I have waited a long time to see the Divas and Drummers of Compton to perform on the AGT live shows. They did not disappoint. Performing in front of a high school football stadium, this group performed a fabulous routine that made me smile. I pray and hope that this excellent dance troupe goes through! A-
San Diego-based singer Celina had a standout audition during the Season 15 Judges’ Auditions. I was looking forward to seeing what she brought tonight. She performed on the Universal Studios lot and transformed London Grammar’s “Strong” into a great anthem. I loved Celina’s lower vocal register, and she reminded me so much of P!nk. B+
12-year-old dancer Noah Epps’s audition went viral (56 million views as of the performance). He introduced a new character that was merged from video games and horror films. Noah is probably one of the most creative kids that I have seen on the show. He surprised me tonight, and I was thoroughly impressed with his performance. B+/A-
Comedian Alex Hooper received four Xs during his 2018 audition. However, when Alex returned earlier this year. He not only received three “Yeses,” but a ticket to the Season 15 live shows. He decided to read a bedtime story called “As the World Burns.” He targeted Terry, Howie, Heidi, and Sofia during his set. I could not stop laughing; it was hysterical! A-
Country music duo Broken Roots were eliminated during the Season 15 Judge Cuts. However, the pair received a second chance after replacing Thomas Day. The duo performed a cover of U2’s “I Still Haven’t Found What I’ve Looking For.” I was not a massive fan of the performance. I felt like the song was rushed, and the vocals were all over the place. D+
Hand balancing siblings, the Bello Sisters, performed in honor of their mom. The sisters are very talented, but the surrounding light show bothered my eyes, and it took away from their performance. C+
Howie Mandel’s Golden Buzzer act, spoken word poet Brandon Leake, was the night’s last performer. I am going to be bluntly honest with you; Brandon does not belong on this show. I was thoroughly bored with this performance. I would have buzzed him immediately! F
Tomorrow night, country music star Cam and America’s Got Talent: The Champions-Season Two runners-up Duo Transcend perform as the last set of semifinalists are revealed.
