Ingrid the Snow Queen is about to unleash the greatest evil Storybrooke has ever seen!
The Snow Queen’s infamous Spell of Shattered Sight brings out the darkness in anyone. She even transformed Anna from one of the nicest characters in the Disney franchise into a mini Cora during the two-hour episode: “Smash the Mirror.”
However, the only people that would be immune to the spell were Ingrid’s niece, Princess Elsa of Arendelle, and Emma Swan, who Ingrid adopted many years ago! In order to protect them from the upcoming curse, she bought her yellow ribbons back from Mr. Gold and also reassured the Dark One that he would not be a thorn in her side…ever again.
How did Ingrid begin the spell? Did the town destroy each other? Read on to find out…
As the curse was unleashed, Mr. Gold visited the Snow Queen to congratulate her on her victory. He also told her that he wanted to leave and threatened her by going after “her sisters” if she did not permit Belle and Henry to leave with him. While the Snow Queen granted Gold his wish, the Charmings and their allies learned that the spell would hit at sundown.
When they tried to take down the ice fortress blocking the town border, Elsa found Anna’s necklace and raced with Emma to Gold’s pawnshop to find the locator spell. Meanwhile, as Ingrid’s “sisters” headed to the library’s dungeons, Gold threateningly assigned Hook the task of destroying the fairies by using the Sorcerer’s Hat. He also revealed that he only cared about the survival of his family and not of the town’s destruction.
While the dastardly duo headed to find the fairies, Regina and Henry warned Robin Hood of the Spell of Shattered Sight. The former Evil Queen revealed that she was petrified of what the spell would do to her and said “goodbye” to Robin Hood. Once, Regina said goodbye to her true love, she returned to the Storybrooke library and reunited with Elsa and the Charmings.
Unfortunately, Charming received startling news from Belle. The fairies can use Anna’s snowflake necklace to stop the spell and save the town, regrettably…Elsa would be forced to stop her search for her sister. Arendelle’s ruler decided to put Anna’s fate in her own hands as she gave a decoy to Regina and the Charming family, as she returned to the mines.
Once, the Charmings found out the truth about the decoy, Emma raced back to the mines to stop Elsa. Using a powerful blast, she blasted through to the beach and the necklace stopped glowing. After accepting the fact that she would never see her sister again, Elsa tearfully wished that she could hug her sister again before facing destruction! Then, in a miracle…a magical light blinded Emma and Elsa and revealed a soaked Anna and Kristoff.
While Elsa saved her sister and future brother-in-law from Hans & Blackbeard’s death trap, no one could stop Hook from doing Rumple’s bidding as the Sorcerer’s Hat swallowed the fairies. He marked his final time seeing Emma with a kiss and locked himself in the city office.
As Emma tearfully locked her parents away, Regina and Henry had a tender mother-son moment as she sealed off her office. Robin Hood wanted to accompany his fair maiden to her vault, but Regina told him: “You do not want to be around me!”
Next week, the glass has fallen…now the fight for survival begins!
