Last night, America’s Got Talent started its Las Vegas Week for Season Eight!
After Howard, Howie, Mel B and Heidi deliberated on the acts that they were going to keep, the judges split the acts into three groups.
One group was immediately sent home. However, another group was sent immediately to the Top 60 and to the Radio City Music Hall live shows. Several acts that made it included the acrobatic Aerial Ice, impressionist Angela Hoover, opera tenor Branden James, dance acts Catapult Entertainment, Chicago Boyz, Kenichi Ebina and Sensation and musical acts the American Military Spouses Choir and the 3Penny Chorus and the American Military Spouses Choir.
The final batch of contestants were told by the quartet that they had to perform one last time to determine if they got the remaining spots at the Radio City Music Hall Live Shows.

The Kid Musicians were the first act to face the judges. Aaralyn and Izzy performed “Lullaby Crash” that started soft transformed into Emo rock. Howard stated that there was “no way that this act could go far this year,” Howie disagreed. 11-year-old Chloe Channell delivered an interesting cover of Reba’s “Turn on the Radio” that was stiff according to Mel B. Austin native Genesis Nava gave a superb cover of Carrie Underwood’s “Good Girl” that Mel B liked but Ciana Pelekai’s performance of “I’d Rather Go Blind” made both Howard and Howie rethink about everyone’s position in this category.
Several magicians fizzled under the pressure of Vegas Week. However, Collins Key delivered an outstanding trick that featured an envelope signed by Heidi, Howie’s autobiography and the number 60. While the judges were stunned, Howie questioned the intimacy of the act and reminded Collins that Radio City Music Hall has 7,000 people and asked him if he could go bigger
If there was one category that was the weakest out of all of the groups were the Variety Acts. Both Special Head and ventriloquist Megan Piphus failed to top their auditions and it seemed like both Lil Mike and Funny Bone were unprepared. The latter two were eliminated right away.
The final group of the night was the Male Singers. It seemed like everyone in the group went backwards except for Jonathan Allen, who gave an outstanding bilingual cover of “The First Time I Saw Your Face.” But even Jonathan divided the judges as Howard thought he was not ready for Radio City Music Hall, while both Heidi and Mel B wanted to give him a spot. Lucky for Jonathan, he was among the last contestants to receive a spot in the Live Shows.
Among the acts that will be joining him at Radio City Music Hall include Special Head, 2Unique, Forte, Collins Key, the KriStef Brothers, Taylor Williamson, Red Panda, Timber Brown, Marty Brown, American Hitmen and DeAnna DellaCioppa!
Next week, the first group of the Top 60 contestants will take the Radio City Music Hall stage!
