The Silver Screen is going to have its share of action in 2013, as several big profile movies will hopefully draw audiences to theatres across the country.
Gangster Squad (Release Date: January 11)
This Ruben Fleischer crime drama focuses on the Los Angeles Police Department officers protecting the City of Angels from the East Coast Mafia’s influence. However, when legendary mob boss Mickey Cohen (Sean Penn) enters the picture, the LAPD must break the law in order to take him into the custody. Gangster Squad’s includes Josh Brolin, Ryan Gosling, Nick Nolte and Emma Stone.
Identity Thief (Release date: February 8)
A lot of people are worry about getting their identity stolen. But what happens when a member of the opposite gender steals your identity? Jason Bateman’s Sandy Patterson is about to find out as Melissa McCartney ‘s Diana stolen his identity and credit cards. Will Sandy get his identity back?

Oz: The Great and Powerful (Release date: March 8)
One film that has been building a lot of buzz in the past couple of months is Oz: The Great and Powerful. This story focuses on a man named Oscar Diggs (James Franco)’s journey to Oz and how he became its benevolent ruler. In addition to Franco playing the Wizard, Mila Kunis, Rachel Weisz and Michelle Williams portray three of Oz’s famous witches.
Iron Man 3 (Release date: May 3)
Iron Man (Robert Downey, Jr.) faces his deadliest opponent yet: the international warlord Mandarin (Sir Ben Kingsley) in the third chapter of the Iron Man franchise. Gwyneth Paltrow and Don Cheadle will reprise their roles as Pepper Potts and War Machine respectfully.
The Great Gatsby (Release date: May 10)
Baz Luhrmann’s interpretation of the classic F. Scott Fitzgerald story will finally see the light of day. Leonardo DiCaprio portrays the titular character while Tobey Maguire and Carey Mulligan play Nick Carraway and Daisy Buchanan respectfully.

Star Trek into Darkness (Release date: May 17)
The second chapter of the revitalized Star Trek motion picture saga will focus on Captain Kirk (Chris Pine) and the crew of the U.S.S. Enterprise faces an unstoppable force that tears through Starfleet and threatens the entire planet. Fans should expect Zachary Quinto, Zoe Saldana and Simon Pegg to reprise their roles as Spock, Uhura and Scotty respectfully while newcomers Benedict Cumberbatch and Alice Eve join the cast.
Man of Steel (Release date: June 14)
It has been seven years since the Man of Steel flew across the silver screens and now Superman will be making his return this summer in the latest reboot: Man of Steel. British actor Henry Cavill will portray the titular role and will face off against fan-favorite villain General Zod (Michael Shannon) for the fate of the world.
