It has been way too long since we saw the residents of Storybrooke!
The last time we saw them, Peter Pan possessed Henry and reactivated Regina’s curse. After ridding the foul-mouthed man-child from his grandson’s body, Mr. Gold summoned his shadow, which delivered him the Dark One’s dagger and stabbed both himself and his father.
Despite Gold’s sacrifice, the curse kept coming and it was up to Regina to save everyone. But, it had a price…everyone who was born into the Enchanted Forest had to return home, leaving both Emma and Henry without their loved ones. But, Regina’s final gift was new memories of the duo living together.
The show fast-forwarded one year later as Emma and Henry lived a happy life in New York City. However, a familiar figure (Hook) showed up at their doorstep with dire news: their family was in danger. Unfortunately, Emma did not believe him and slammed the door in his face.
Who is the new threat that Hook mentioned? Did Emma get back her old memories? Read on to find out!
The return was divided into two parts: one in present day New York City and in the Enchanted Forest (in the past). Prince Phillip and Princess Aurora were about to enjoy a picnic lunch when the Charmings and crew returned to the Enchanted Forest. While the couple was happy to seem them, they hid something big as Aurora warned her husband that they needed to tell “her” about the Storybrooke residents’ return.
As Hook left the group, Neal and Belle began to ponder where was Rumple’s dagger and if his palace was still intact. Meanwhile, Snow and Regina bonded over lost children and the former advised the Evil Queen to not bury her heart. Unfortunately, a Flying Monkey attacked and stole a little bit of Regina’s blood. Robin Hood, who appeared standoffish when he met the Queen, rescued the duo from the Monkey.
Back in New York, Emma met with Walsh, a furniture shop owner who dated Ms. Swan for eight months. Hook arrived at her table and gave him an address: Neal’s apartment. Before Emma took the initiative to act on Hook’s actions, Walsh returned to the table and presented Emma with an engagement ring. She was left speechless and told him: “No!”
When she returned to her apartment, Henry asked if she responded to the proposal. Emma told her son that she needed more time. However, her beloved son said that Walsh would be a good addition to the family. Meanwhile, Emma went to the address and discovered it was Neal’s apartment. What she found shocked her to the core: her dream catcher and Henry’s camera.
Emma reunited with Hook and had the NYPD arrest him for assault. However, when she developed the film from Henry’s camera and found the pictures of their old lives. She bailed Hook out of the jail and drank the potion that Hook had on him. Emma’s memories returned and they reminisced on old times. When Emma had to break the news to Walsh, she made a horrifying discovery: Walsh was a Flying Monkey!
After Emma was able to defeat the creature, she told Henry about leaving for an adventure and Hook joined the mother-son duo on their way back to Storybrooke. When they returned, Emma sped her way to her parents’ apartment where they were reunited and revealed that Snow was expecting!
Back at the Dark Palace, the Flying Monkey delivered the blood to his mistress: The Wicked Witch of the West!
Next week, the Wicked Witch of the West confronts Regina as more puzzle pieces reveal themselves.
