Lego Masters host Will Arnett joined the panel as Group C entered the playoff rounds! Tonight, the Astronaut, the Night Angel, the Rhino, and the T-Rex square off for a spot in the Masked Singer: Season Three Super Nine.
Which performer stepped up to the plate and delivered a show-stopper? Who joined Chaka Khan, Drew Carey, former Alaska Governor Sarah Palin, and Tom Bergeron in the elimination club? Did Will Arnett help Nicole Scherzinger, Ken Jeong, Jenny McCarthy, and Robin Thicke correctly deduce the eliminated celebrity’s identities? Read on to find out!
After Will Arnett’s incredible intro, host Nick Cannon made his entrance and introduced the Lego Batman actor to the Masked Singer panel. The Astronaut, Night Angel, T-Rex, and the Rhino performed Jennifer Lopez’s “Let’s Get Loud” for the group performance! In all honesty, Night Angel outsang them all!
The Night Angel entered the Masked Singer stage for the chance to go perform in the Super Nine. She is one of the season’s best performers and she sang “SHOUT!” by the Isley Brothers. I loved when she showcased her upper vocal register and Jenny predicted that she could win the season. The Night Angel showcased her connection to Jenny McCarthy through her radio show. The panel guessed Toni Braxton, Taraji P. Henson, and Janet Jackson.
The Astronaut was the second performer to take the Masked Singer stage. He sang Ed Sheeran’s “Shape of You” and I still heard country twang in his voice. I am going to solidify my guess and predict that the Astronaut is Hunter Hayes. The panel praised his growth and predicted that he would go to the Super Nine. The Astronaut Mask stated that he and Nicole attended a major celebration at a mall. The panel guessed Eddie Vedder, JC Chasez, and Joseph Gordon Levitt.
The T-Rex was the third performer of the evening. She decided to sing The Pussycat Dolls’ version of “Jai Ho (You Are My Destiny).” While I love JoJo Siwa’s energy, I wish that the Masked Singer audience voted her out. Nicole loved that she sang the Slumdog Millionaire performance. Her connection was with Will, because of Lego Batman. The panel thought it was Gabby Douglas, JoJo Siwa (right on the money, Jenny & Nicole), and Alana “Honey Boo Boo” Thompson.
After the T-Rex talked smack to the White Tiger, the Rhino was the final Masked Singer to perform in the Group C championships. He tackled Smokey Robinson’s “The Track of My Tears.” I think this was his best performance to date, and Ken Jeong gave him a standing ovation. The Rhino had a connection with Robin Thicke. The panel predicted Will Ferrell, David Hasselhoff, and even Will Arnett himself.
Once all of the Masked Singer audience members and panelists voted, the performer that was leaving was T-REX MASK! The final guesses were JoJo Siwa (Jenny McCarthy, Nicole Scherzinger, & Robin Thicke), Liza Koshy (Ken Jeong), and Tara Lapinski (Will Arnett). It turned out that Robin, the ladies, and I were right…it was JoJo Siwa!
