There are no words to describe my excitement to welcome both Matt Pagan and Michael Auger back to jakes-take.com as they make their debut on The Jake’s Take with Jacob Elyachar Podcast.
Matt and Michael are one-half of the international vocal group Collabro. In 2014, Matt, Michael, Thomas Redgrave, Jamie Lambert, and former member Richard Hadfield entered the international spotlight when they auditioned for the eighth series of Britain’s Got Talent. Thanks to their superb harmonies and impeccable stage presence, the group gained a fandom called the Collaborators, won the competition, and performed at the 2014 Royal Variety Performance in front of Prince William and Princess Katherine. They also released two albums under Syco Music: 2014’s Stars and 2015’s Act Two.
While Hadfield left the group in 2016, Collabro continued to perform across the United Kingdom and worldwide. The group also released three more studio albums— 2017’s Home (which featured the group’s first original song: “Lighthouse”), 2018’s Road to the Royal Albert Hall, and 2019’s Love Like This. Matt, Michael, Jamie, and Thomas competed on Britain’s Got Talent: The Champions’ inaugural season and America’s Got Talent: The Champions’ sophomore season.
Recently, the quartet released their very first Christmas album: Christmas is Here. Throughout the group’s sixth studio album, Collabro delivered their stellar interpretations of holiday classics, including “O Holy Night,” “Winter Wonderland,” and “All I Want for Christmas is You.” They also recorded their second original song: “Christmas Is Here.”
In this edition of The Jake’s Take with Jacob Elyachar Podcast, Matt Pagan and Michael Auger spoke about Christmas is Here’s recording process and shared a special holiday message for the Collaborators.
