It is a privilege to welcome the Sinclair Media Group founder David Sinclair-Black to The Jake’s Take with Jacob Elyachar Podcast.
David is a company director of a music marketing agency from the sunny seaside town of Eastbourne in the United Kingdom. He is trying to change how the music industry operates for independent musicians. In January, he surveyed 165 independent musicians to find out what is stopping them from turning their hobby in music into a full-time career. The survey found that most musicians’ problems stem from not having enough contact with significant record labels.
“[The lack of] pitching record labels represented 66.66% of answers given,” said David Sinclair-Black. “Labels don’t care about you until you’re hitting a consistent 30,000 listeners on Spotify each month, or unless you have any type of online traction.” The problem lies that this only happens in his opinion for “0.01% of musicians.”
The Sinclair Media Group continues to search and find answers for musicians facing this problem: helping them grow online and connect with labels directly. Currently, the group has supported 72 musicians around the globe and made a more profound impact and become full-time in their life passion. Some artists that found success with Sinclair Media Group included A Certain Energy, Boy Nash, and Kingsy. They have also appeared on the International Business Times, MarketWatch, and MSNBC.
In this edition of The Jake’s Take with Jacob Elyachar Podcast, David Sinclair-Black spoke about some of his clients’ successes and how he sat down with real estate mogul Grant Cardone.
