Kiss All the Time. Disco, Occasionally by Harry Styles

Pop music icon Harry Styles dropped his fourth studio album, Kiss All the Time. Disco, Occasionally.  The “Watermelon Sugar” performer reunited with veteran collaborators Kid Harpoon and Tyler Johnson to craft all the tunes, and the latter two co-produced the record.  Kiss All the Time’s production leans towards the pop hemisphere of the music world, particularly in synth-pop, dance pop, and pop rock. There are also some soon-to-be-timeless classics, such as “Are You Listening Yet?,” which could be the love child of Coldplay’s “Every Teardrop is a Waterfall” and Paul Simon’s “You Can Call Me Al”;  “Coming Up Roses,” which has shades of Calum Scott’s “You are the Reason”;  and “Aperture.” Kiss All the Time. Disco, Occasionally continues to elevate Harry Styles as his generation’s go-to recording artist, and this record could be a force to be reckoned with during the upcoming award season.  B+

Monica by Jack Harlow

Rapper Jack Harlow released his fourth studio album, Monica. Frequent collaborators Aksel Arvid, BabeTruth, Clay Harlow, Hollywood Cole, and Roget Chahayed reunited with the “Already Best Friends” performer.  The Voice USA winner Jermaine Paul, Robert Glasper, and Cory Henry were also recruited for the album’s songwriting and production aspects.  While Jack Harlow has some soon—to-be classics on Monica, several slow-tempo musical arrangements might make fans fall asleep. Friends from Your Hometown by Jonas Brothers

The Jonas Brothers dropped a special surprise live album for their fans! Throughout their 2025 tour, they brought out special guests ranging from longtime friend Demi Lovato, Nick’s fellow Voice USA coach John Legend, and fellow pop-rock band 5 Seconds of Summer to iconic bands Dashboard Confessional and Hoobastank, and rising stars Absolutely and Sierra Ferrell.  I love that the trio showcased their ability to navigate through millennial classics such as “Hey There Delilah” (with Plain White Ts) and “No Air” (with Jordin Sparks) to Top 40 favorites such as “The Middle” (with Maren Morris) and “Young Dumb & Broke” (with Khalid). Friends from Your Hometown is one of the Jonas Brothers’ top albums and one of the top duets’ records of this decade. A-

Tracks to Download or Stream: “Wouldn’t Change A Thing (Live),” “I Believe (Live),” “She Looks So Perfect (Live),” “No Air (Live),” & “The Reason (Live).”

“Ocean in the Desert” by Dionne Warwick & Cynthia Erivo

Music legend Dionne Warwick has announced that she will release one final album of her career – DWuets. It has been reported that Grammy-winning and 17-time Oscar-nominated songwriter Diane Warren has written all the songs. The first single, “Ocean in the Desert,” sees the “I Say a Little Prayer” performer team up with Emmy-, Grammy-, and Tony Award-winning performer Cynthia Erivo.  This pairing seems like a moment between the two torch songstresses, and they gave me chills. “Woman” by Kane Brown

Country music superstar Kane Brown released his first single of 2026 – “Woman.” Yahoo reported that Kane’s wife, Katelyn, was the main inspiration for “Woman,” and the “Miles on It” signer dedicated it to her.  “Woman” is a fun song that will be a standard in Kane’s catalog and at concerts for years to come. “Talk to Me” by Robyn

Swedish pop superstar Robyn is closing in on dropping her ninth studio album, Sexistential. The “Show Me Love” performer reworked her 2002 hit “Blow My Mind,” which will be included on the record. I applaud Robyn for rekindling this tune and introducing it to a new generation of fans. B+

Artists to Watch:

Jake’s Take with Jacob Elyachar’s Artists to Watch is back! Here are some recording artists that could shake up the music world!

Golden Keys by Tony Kieraldo

World-renowned pianist and composer Tony Kieraldo released his take on the James Bond songbook. Golden Keys tackles some of 007’s iconic theme songs. He reunited with numerous vocalists from his Postmodern Jukebox days, including Casey Abrams, Tatum Langley, Tawanda, and Jake’s Take with Jacob Elyachar friend Effie Passaro. Golden Keys brilliantly balances both Tony’s artistry and his collaborators’ divine vocals. A

Tracks to Download or Stream: “James Bond Theme (From Dr. No),” “From Russia to Love,” “Goldfinger,” “Diamonds are Forever,” “Live & Let Die,” & “Goldeneye.”

“Why Does No One Want Me” by Abby Nissenbaum

Nashville-based LGBTQ+ indie rocker Abby Nissenbaum dropped a powerful song, “Why Does No One Want Me.”  The lyrics would tug at your heartstrings and speak to people who have struggled with finding love. A-

“The Touch” by StreetWise featuring Ada Dyer

NYC musician Raymond Castronovo, who is part of the collective StreetWise, rounds out this edition of Jake’s Take’s New Music Reviews.  Raymond teamed up with producer, songwriter, and former Saturday Night Live band member Chris Palmaro to craft a new disco anthem, “The Touch.” They recruited Ada Dyer as lead vocalist, and this song transports the audience to Studio 54 at the height of its power.
