The Masked Singer: Season Six is nearing its home stretch! Tonight, the Bull and the Skunk competed in the Group A finals. The two remaining performers sang one more solo and were partnered with celebrity guest duet performers. Which performer will advance to the Season Six finale? Who joined Bobby Berk, Willie Robertson, Natasha Bedingfield, and Ruth Pointer in the Season Six elimination club? Did any of the panelists (Ken Jeong, Nicole Scherzinger, Robin Thicke, and Jenny McCarthy Wahlberg) correctly deduce the eliminated performer’s identity? Read on to find out!
After Nick Cannon made his entrance and introduced the panel, it was time to get down to business! The Bull kicked off The Masked Singer: Season Six Group A finale. There was a checkered flag, butterflies, and a “king.” He sang Paula Abdul’s “Straight Up” and made The Masked Dancer judge proud with that epic performance! The panel was blown away by the Bull’s performance. Ken called it – “the most entertaining performance” in show history. The show revealed that the Bull was not someone from Hamilton. However, Bull revealed that he performed at the same venue as the iconic show. Ken guessed Jesse Tyler Ferguson, while Jenny thought it was American Idol alum Adam Lambert. However, Nicole thought it was Jaden Smith. The Bull also got a shout-out from Matthew Morrison, who shared that they crossed paths on Glee.
Skunk Mask revealed that she was friends with the late Whitney Houston. Clues included “presidential suite.” She sang Aretha Franklin’s “I Never Loved a Man (The Way I Loved You).” I loved her husky voice. However, I still don’t know who this legendary performer is. Jenny predicted that Skunk could be this season’s winner. The show revealed that the Skunk was not Jill Scott! However, the Skunk revealed that she performed with Jill Scott in the past. Ken thought it was Mary J. Blige. Meanwhile, Jenny thought it was Brandy. However, Robin guessed Faith Evans – Whitney’s former neighbor. As Skunk left the stage, she got a pep talk from Judge Mathis!
The Bull returned to the stage as he sang with Masked Singer: Season Three runner-up Jesse McCartney! The duo performed The Script’s “Breakeven,” and I was thoroughly impressed with the performance. Jesse predicted that the Bull could go all the way in the competition.
Skunk teamed up with music legend Michael Bolton for her chance to make it to the Season Six finale. They sang the Motown classic “Ain’t No Mountain High Enough.” Skunk mentioned in their pre-performance package that this was not their first time singing together. I got chills from the performance. Unfortunately, the crooner did not know who was under the Skunk Mask.
After the crucial vote and in the closest vote in show history, The Bull won the Group A Finals! Sadly, we had to say goodbye to Skunk. Ken changed his first impression guess from Anita Baker to Mary J. Blige. Jenny thought it was either Gloria Gaynor or Roberta Flack but joined Ken in guessing Mary J. Blige. Nicole thought it was either Fantasia or Mary J. Blige – however, she changed it to Faith Evans. Robin stood by his first impression guess of Faith Evans! It turns out that Robin was right… SKUNK was Faith Evans!
