Last night, the Top Eight delivered a diverse set of performances.
Half of the group delivered outstanding performances (Judith Hill, Michelle Chamuel and Amber Carrington), while others were blown out of the water (Sarah Simmons).
Did Blake and Adam lose any players? Were Usher and Shakira both forced out of the competition?
Your Voice recap starts…right now!
Guest mentor Sheryl Crow returned The Voice stage to promote her new single “Easy” and performed the song with Team Blake. Unlike some guests on other shows (*cough* LeAnn Rimes and Chaka Khan *cough*), she let them had her individual moments and all five of their voices blended very well together during the chorus.
Before they got to any results, Team Adam’s Judith Hill and Team Usher’s Michelle Chamuel delivered an excellent piece of ear candy with their rendition of Calvin Harris and Florence Welch’s “Sweet Nothing.” Host Carson Daly revealed that America saved…. Michelle Chamuel! Her coach gave her a huge hug as the seven other acts were left to sweat it out!
For the next duet of the night, Team Shakira’s Sasha Allen and Team Blake’s the Swon Brothers tackled Jason Aldean and Kelly Clarkson’s “Don’t You Wanna Stay.” It was a great combination of voices and they made both artists proud. Unfortunately, they had to keep waiting to hear where they placed as Danielle Bradbury was the next artist moving on to the Top Six.
The third duet of the night belonged to a pitchy cover of “A Thousand Years.” Danielle and Sarah’s vocals did not blend well together. The Voice Confessionals talked about their guilty pleasures. Hopefully, Sasha Allen will share more juicy confessionals as she moved on to next week’s Top Six.
After Holly Tucker and Amber Carrington performed a duet, it was down to two members of Team Adam and Team Blake. Both members of Team Blake were saved as frontrunners Judith Hill and Sarah Simmons were eliminated from the competition.
Next week, the Top Six will perform for America’s votes!
Are you surprised by Judith Hill’s elimination? Who do you think should have been eliminated in her place?
